How You Can Benefit from MAN Asset+
Discover our two-stroke solutions
Optimized cooling system for MAN B&W two-stroke engines with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR).
With Adaptive Cooling installed the coolant flow will automatically be adapted according to the engine running mode, hence reducing power consumption of the cooling system when running in Tier II or TC cut-out mode.
Available for #EGRBP, #EGRTC, #EcoEGR
A new scavenge air cooler design that uniquely enables utilization of the energy from the scavenge air cooling process for other energy-consuming processes on board. Such as increasing boiler feed water temperature, gas vaporization, freshwater production, air condition heating, organic Rankine cycle system or ballast water treatment system.
Digital solutions
Synchrophasing is a highly effective tool introduced to reduce vibrations of both vessel and engine structure in ships with twin propulsion design.
A comprehensive test period covering over 15 ships shows a vibration reduction measurement in the range of 50-70%.
PMI ACCo is a fully automatic system that ensures low fuel consumption. Through a patented closed loop algorithm, it adjusts the fuel index and exhaust valve operation of each cylinder.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can Asset+ solutions help optimize performance and increase energy efficiency onboard?
Asset+ solutions are added functionalities for your engine, which tailors it better for a particular purpose or task. The Asset+ solution applied depends on the ship and engine. With the right choice, you optimize the performance and increase the energy efficiency onboard. This could include, for example, reduced fuel consumption or optimized power take-off possibilities.
How can Asset+ solutions contribute to obtaining a lower EEDI?
Asset+ solutions contribute to achieving a lower Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) in different ways for different engines and ships. For instance, for ships with a large energy consumption onboard, the two-stage cooler will help reuse energy from the scavenge air cooling process for other purposes. When it comes to ships built with a shaft generator, the power take-off can be increased when applying PTO interface option C.
How do Asset+ solutions contribute to an improved Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII)?
Asset+ solutions play a key role in improving the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) by implementing energy-saving features which are particularly valuable for specific engines. In the case of ships with main engines equipped with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), Adaptive Cooling will significantly reduce the energy consumption used for cooling when sailing in Tier II areas.

MAN Energy Solutions Signs with Spire to Accelerate Digitalisation Strategy
MAN Energy Solutions has selected Spire Global, Inc., a global provider of space-based data, analytics and space services, to provide weather data and real-time automatic identification system (AIS) vessel-tracking data.
According to McKinsey & Co, the shipping industry can decrease fuel consumption by 1% through optimised vessel execution and performance management mechanisms, utilising AIS and weather data for route mapping.
MAN Energy Solutions will accordingly integrate Spire’s AIS and weather data into – among other tools – its digital solution, MAN-CEON, a digital platform used to support monitoring and advisory tools for the decarbonisation and optimisation of marine, power and industrial equipment. This integration aims to provide customers with improved performance, troubleshooting and decarbonisation insights.
To further accelerate the rate of digitalisation in the maritime industry, MAN Energy Solutions and Spire will also collaborate on the development of AI models designed to analyse engine data and create more cost-efficient solutions for its customers.
Gregory Puckett, Chief Digital Officer of MAN Energy Solutions, said: "Our driving strategy at MAN Energy Solutions revolves around 'moving big things to zero', which means we aim to help decarbonise key sectors of the global economy through systems that bring down emissions that have been historically hard to abate. The enrichment of our product data with Spire’s AIS and weather data will unlock further optimisation for our products, and further our goal to improve engine performance and decarbonisation."
