MAN Energy Solutions participated in the Sino-Danish Shipping Decarbonization Summit and delivered a keynote speech
On April 9, 2024, the Sino-Danish Shipping Decarbonization Summit Energy Roundtable Forum - Power to X, hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in China, was successfully held at MAN Energy Solutions in Shanghai Academy Premise.
Collaboration crucial
The summit was presided over by Henrik Bruun Martens, Commercial Counselor and Head of the Energy Team at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Beijing. Mikael Hemniti Winther, Consul-General of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Denmark in Shanghai, and Dr. Wang Xiaodong, Chief Energy Expert and Country Director for China, Mongolia, and Korea Infrastructure Bureau at the World Bank, delivered opening speeches. Andreas Nordseth, the Director General of the Danish Maritime Authority made the closing speech. Thomas Østrup Møller, Ambassador, Embassy of The Kingdom of Denmark in Beijing attended the summit and warmly delivered greetings of Danish company representatives and Chinese VIPs.
Five roundtable discussions were held concurrently, focusing on topics such as advanced resource assessment practices and green methanol production, fostering intellectual exchanges and collaborative discussions.
Ammonia milestones
During the summit, Liang Weiwei, an engine system application engineer from MAN, delivered a keynote speech titled "The Next Step in Ammonia - When?" systematically introducing MAN's timeline in ammonia-fueled engine research and development.
The Sino-Danish Shipping Decarbonization Summit and Energy Roundtable was a gathering of wisdom and a platform for discussing the future. MAN, together with industry partners who share the same aspirations, is jointly promoting the progress and development of shipping decarbonization.
