Job responsibilities:

• Superintendent Engineer is responsible for his team, his own work tasks as required by seniors time to time in accordance with assigned responsibilities
• Supervises and leads team of service engineers & technicians, skilled labour, and work crews in all activities concerned with field engineering works aspects

What are you going to do?

Supervise commissioning work on site of turbomachinery (mainly compressor and steam turbine) within the schedule, safely manner and to the specified quality

As Commissioning Engineer for turbomachinery:

• Advise on commissioning requirements of projects on site
• Site management responsibility from mechanical completion of the equipment until hand over to the client
• Pre-commissioning and hot commissioning of turbo machinery and its auxiliaries
• Check out correct function of auxiliary systems (lube oil, dry gas seals system …)
• Inspect process piping, valves and instrumentation
• Check of control logic, verify alarms and shutdowns in the control system supplied by MAN (usually PCS7) or Client control system
• Function testing of auxiliary equipment, such as lube oil pump, motors, actuator, etc.          
• Supports the customer in all questions related to commissioning of the MAN supplied equipment
• Lead for startup and testing of new installations/erections or overhauled units of rotating equipment including mechanical part
• Fault finding and troubleshooting of ‘in-service’ machinery
• Monitor field sequence activities based on agreed scope and schedule and report regularly to office.

• Instruction of customer personnel related to operation and maintenance
• Work with Field Service Pool Leader and other members of field service department to develop the capability of  the Field Service Department staff

• Extensive experience in commissioning or maintenance of rotating equipment such as centrifugal compressor, axial compressor and steam turbine or small industrial gas turbine (below 20 MW) .

Detailed tasks specification:

• A Superintendent Engineer is responsible for the team, his own work tasks as required in accordance with his assigned responsibilities.
• Supervises and leads a team of service engineers & technicians, skilled labour, and work crews in all activities concerned with field engineering works aspects.
• Ability to prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Competent in reading, understanding and interpreting specifications, drawings, and all other engineering related documentation.
• Familiar with and enforces strict compliance with all Engineering Standards, QA/QC and Safety procedures, plus all Company rules and regulations.
• Develops excellent working relationships with all other department personnel as well as client management.
• Liaise with other staff to ensure the optimum interface of the various operational activities, with the overall objective of successful completion of the maintenance / service activities and projects.
• Planning, monitoring and tracking of projects with daily progress and work completed reports, comparing planned to actual. Takes appropriate mitigating action to ensure compliance with the plan, based on knowledge of available manpower, equipment, materials and in cooperation with planning engineer and project management.  
• Ensures that the staff understands and implements the engineering aspects of the work plan, by explaining and engaging in pro‐active communication with the crews.
• Identifies and implements “on‐the‐job” training programs with the aim of developing and improving team members’ competency in required skills and abilities.
• Being an expert, responsible for managing complex field service missions.
• Develops special solutions for their field of activity.
• Develops, designs and implements overall field service strategies with cross company implications.
• Coordination of experts of a lower level and external experts belonging to their field service responsibility area.
• Serves as contact for highly sensitive issues and problems.
• Promotes the development and implementation of best practices in their own area of responsibility.

   

  You can help us with these qualifications:

• Detailed understanding of the business both technical and commercial levels.
• Seasoned engineer with 5 to 7 years of related experience with large diesel engines.
• University degree in Engineering with related work experience

   

• Comparable vocational education with longtime work experience
• Entrepreneurial mindset combined with a high degree of customer satisfaction and intimacy orientation.
• Excellent skill set required as mentioned in detailed competence profile.
• Sound, interpersonal presentation as well as intercultural skills and understanding.
• Very good coordination, organization and communication skills in a highly dynamic environment.
• Ability to cope with changes in the job scope with little or no notice and adjust the plan accordingly.
