The Field Service Engineer (Mechanical) – 4 Stroke is responsible for managing the technical operations, maintenance, and performance of Everllence 4-stroke engine systems in marine and industrial applications. This includes overseeing installation and commissioning of new projects, providing on-site support to resolve technical issues, and ensuring engines run efficiently and reliably. The role also involves preparing service reports, supporting MIS documentation, and working to reduce warranty claims while improving project profitability. Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of Everllence (MAN) 4-stroke engines in new ship and power plant installations, including related auxiliaries.
  • Calculate and analyze key contractual parameters like Specific Fuel Oil Consumption (SFOC), Specific Load Oil Consumption (SLOC), engine performance, and ensure smooth project handover.

  • Proven experience in the marine service industry at various levels, such as Service Engineer, Third/Second Engineer, either with an OEM or on commercial vessels globally.

The Senior Field Service Engineer -E&I is responsible for leading field service activities for steam turbines in both onshore and offshore projects. The role involves supervising teams of technicians at client sites and ensuring the proper execution of work on steam turbines and related equipment (up to 50 MW). The engineer will be required to travel to plants as needed to perform erection, commissioning, maintenance, repair, and modification of turbine generators, while maintaining a high level of customer interaction and support.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical erection, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities with crews ranging from 1 to 10 persons.
  • Lead disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of steam turbine generators and auxiliaries.
  • Ensure job site safety compliance and adherence to EHS programs.

    We can offer you the following tasks:

    • ​ Understand Input documents required to prepare to prepare I&C deliverables in

       Plant Engineering software like COMOS

    • Select all Instrumentation arrangement as per customer order requirement of

      turbomachinery systems

    • Select Instrumentation as per applicable customer specifications, area class as

      well as applicable international regulations in plant design, such as ANSI, IEC,

      IS, API & European standards

    • Prepare Instrumentation documents like P&ID, Instrument List & Specifications,

      I/O list, Alarm & Trip, Signal List, Hook-up Drawings, Installation Material Lists

      for Field Instrumentation, Cable tray drawings, with supporting structures etc.

    • Prepare output documents like JB & Cable Schedule, Interconnection Wiring

      Schedules, Loop Diagrams, Control Logic Diagram, JB & Instrument Rack

      Layouts and Field Junction Box Lay-Out Drawings etc.

    • Review Supplier documents and give technical clearance to procurement team

      You can help us with these qualifications:

    • 3-4 Years’ Experience in turbomachinery - Instrumentation engineering
    • Bachelors or Master's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering (or) Equiv.
    • Knowledge & Experience in COMOS is mandatory
    • Basic Experience in turbomachinery components such as compressor, steam turbines, electrical motors / generators, lube oil system, seal gas system, condensing system, machine-monitoring system & other control systems etc.,
    • Knowledge on sizing and selection of Field Instruments
    • Knowledge in creating and reviewing Instrumentation deliverables
    • Basic knowledge of PLC/ DCS & Control Panel Design
    • Good Knowledge of client / consultant specifications, codes and standards
    • Exposure in working in ERP Software

    We can offer you the following tasks:

    • ​Understand Input documents like Client Specs, Layout & drawings, international & national     design codes and standards based on application knowledge such as ANSI, IEC, IS, API & European standards
    • Carry out technical clarifications with customers, suppliers and internal departments. For example, electrical interfaces, such as hard-wired signals, mains harmonics, maximum permitted starting current, interface between motor shaft end and coupling, size and arrangement of the components
    • Select proper materials for release of Specifications, documentation support to procurement.
    • Prepare Bills of material in the ERP software
    • Detailed engineering of components such as motors, VFD, transformers, Generators, Grid Auxiliaries, Electricity Grid codes
    • Participation in project meetings with Everllence customers and suppliers
    • Regular exchange with the other project members from system engineering, rotor dynamics, instrumentation, controls, sales, purchasing, quality, test bench
    • Evaluation of electrical characteristics of power generation systems power plants etc. based on unit- and component certificates and specific technical documents
    • Communication with manufacturers, operators, planners and, if necessary with grid operators

      You can help us with these qualifications:

    • Education : Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
    • Experience : 4-5 years of relevant experience is required
    • Skills : Synchronous and asynchronous motors, frequency converters, transformers, coolers and switchgear in the medium voltage range, explosion protection, engine instrumentation
    • Project management experience: tracking deadlines, costs and quality
    • Very good knowledge of English (business fluent)
    • Basic knowledge of the IEC standards
