The business unit PrimeServ Marine and Power is responsible for the entire aftersales business in Hong Kong from the bidding to the execution phase and later on the service and maintenance.

Within the PrimeServ segment for Marine the four stroke engine plays a vital role for this segment and it is used in many applications from power plants, to propulsion and as generators. It does so as it is a versatile component in size and power output.

In PrimeServ Hong Kong we are looking for Engineers and Superintedent Engineers that can service this area in particular. Below are more details on what we are looking for and what we can offer.

We can offer you the following tasks

• Provide technical service installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, overhauls and modernization for engines and turbochargers manufactured by the company and affiliated companies on seagoing vessels and power plants
• Provide technical advice; provide training and service program information including follow-up to previously visited vessels as well as engine related support to our customers
• Directs and supervises work performed by outside contractors in repair of the company’s engines
• Assists workshops in technical matters as required, assists in the collection of receivables, establishes and maintains good business relations and communication with all customers
• Innovates and develops products

You can help us with these qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from college or university, preferred marine or mechanical engineering. Or relevant education and training to meet the requirements
• Four or more years related experience. Or equivalent combination of education/tranining and experience
• Deep knowledge of 2-stroke, ME/ME-B Engines and Control Systems
• Knowledge of pneumatic and electronic
• Team player; able to maintain good relations with colleagues and customers
• Experienced in working independently
• Experienced and able to handle intensive travelling via car, train, plane, launch boat, and in extreme cases on helicopter on short notice
• Understand and practice safe working methods
• Willing to work under ISO standards and have a commitment to continuous improvement

• Expand collaboration and communication with customers regarding our Omnicare sales and Digital Solutions (ship owners and motor managers)

• Preferable Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or related professional background
• Experience in marine business/industry or related function
• Well proven English skills (both verbal and written)
• Expertise with MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

• Participate in on-site meetings with owner and shipyard
• Frequent reporting of project progress
• Conduct quality inspections installed equipment
• Warehouse management (in shipyard) of MAN ES parts, coordination and handling parts from ashore to onboard
• Deputy of site manager in case of his absence

• Representing the contract on-site during conversion
• Responsible for correct execution of conversion within cost and timeline
• Participate in on-site meetings with owner, shipyard, class society, sub suppliers and etc.

• Monitor conversion schedule and report progress to project manager
• Responsible for on-site resources and co-ordination hereof, inclusive keeping track of used resources
• In coordination with Site Superintendent evaluate list of outstanding project topics and report to back office / project management
• Handling of safety requirements of conversion

• Coordinating with customers for invoice issuing, and pushing money collection
• Contributing to efficient technical communication between Chinese Partners and HQ on technical matters relevant turbocharger

• Sales responsibility and business development for 4-stroke engine, turbocharger and SCR spare parts business in the APAC region.
• In depth understanding of the business in the region and of the specific customer’s needs as well as close contact with the local sales managers and regular customer’s visits.
• Responsible for planning, executing and implementing sales strategies involving multiple teams, stakeholders and customers in order to achieve region sales goals.
• Ability to create strategies based on internal tools such as SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), CRM, Power BI, etc., to adapt to market fluctuations.
• Reporting forecast and results to upper management as well as participating in strategic meetings in the region.

You can help us with these qualifications

• Successfully completed studies in the field of engineering, business administration, economics or comparable qualification.
• Sales driven with technical affinity, 3 to 5 years of international sales experience beneficial.
• Experience in the marine industry.
• Entrepreneurial, self-disciplined and highly motivated with analytical skills and a holistic view of the business.
• Strong social competences, ability to work independently and flexible with business trip (approx. 30%).
• Fluency in Mandarin and English, additional languages (German) beneficial.

• To carry out inspections at the engine builders and their sub-contractors of the production of engines and components
• To supervise engine installation onboard and coordination of related parties
• To supervise the quality based on MAN-ES’ specifications, drawings, contractual agreements as well as classification societies rules in order to assure that the components/units/engines are in accordance with the stated requirements
• To follow up upon the progress of the actual production compared to the engine builders pre-forwarded production schedule and delivery dates
• To assist the engine builders by general advising and in case of production deviation, ensure suitable countermeasures to be taken in due time, if necessary by arranging for a quick liaison to MAN-ES’ head office for possible additional advice and for rectification proposals
• Contribute to efficient communication between the engineers from overseas and the Chinese Partners including acting as translator during meetings and lectures
• Meet all HSE requirement

You can help us with these qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Marine / Mechanical Engineering
• 5 or more years’ experience working in the Marine industry, such as shipyard, two stroke engine builders, and classification society. With experience from engine builder is preferable
• Ability to work independently and in good cooperation with team members and customers
• Fluent English speaking
• Good knowledge of computer skill
