MAN PrimeServ 7 Time is running out 2020 DEADLINE The IMO has consistently reiterated that the Global Sulphur Cap 2020 start date will not change. In fact, as part of the MARPOL treaty, the date cannot legally change; according to the IMO it is now too late for any revised date to enter into force before 1 st January 2020. In face of this, however, the industry’s general state of readiness is putting a significant proportion of businesses in danger of non-compliance. Even if implementation of a chosen compliance solution was to begin today, the necessary logistical, manpower and availability requirements will make its completion before the 2020 start date a serious challenge.
